Checklist

What to include in your first project brief.

You do not need every item for every project. Send what you have, and Nest can help identify gaps before production begins.

Project overview

Project type, location, phase, client goals, design intent, and what needs to be produced.

Deliverables

DWG files, Revit model, PDF sheets, renderings, SketchUp model, as-built drawings, schedules, or coordination exports.

Software requirements

Revit version, AutoCAD format, ArchiCAD workflow, SketchUp version, rendering tools, and export requirements.

Standards

Title blocks, CAD layers, Revit template, BIM standards, naming rules, sample sheets, lineweights, fonts, and annotation style.

Source files

Existing drawings, survey files, point clouds, photos, markups, old models, consultant backgrounds, and reference images.

Deadline and milestones

Final deadline, review dates, internal check-ins, time-zone expectations, and required handoff format.

Scope boundaries

What Nest should do, what your internal team will handle, what is excluded, and where assumptions are allowed.

Confidentiality

NDA requirements, file-sharing channel, access permissions, and any client-sensitive information.

Review process

Who gives feedback, how markups are shared, how revisions are approved, and how final files should be packaged.

Next step

Start with one controlled package before scaling support.

Send one drawing set, model task, visualization package, or Scan to BIM brief first. Once quality, communication, and timing are clear, you can continue per project or move into a dedicated monthly architect subscription.
